The CSR Report highlights the passion of Southern Glazer’s employees who contributed 12,185 volunteer hours and organized 210 volunteer events to support 186 unique charities during 2022. This impact is a result of Southern Glazer’s grassroots employee volunteering and giving program, VolunCheers. In recognition of this commitment to giving in local markets, the Company hosted its inaugural VolunCheers Unleashed conference, the first in-person gathering for Southern Glazer’s VolunCheer Ambassadors, who serve as local volunteer champions, as well as CSR and DEI representatives from strategic supplier partners. These and other community relations activities are covered in this year’s report.
“Whether donating their time, personal resources or expertise, our employees constantly inspire me with their unparalleled compassion and generosity,” said Wayne E. Chaplin, Chief Executive Officer, Southern Glazer’s. “It’s their incredible dedication to help others that drives the growth of Southern Glazer’s charitable impact year after year. I have no doubt that we’ll come together in 2023 to create even more positive and lasting change across our communities.”
Environmental sustainability and reducing Southern Glazer’s carbon footprint also remain top, strategic priorities for the Company. Southern Glazer’s efforts to set a standard and take a leadership role to enhance sustainability across the wine and spirits ecosystem are detailed in the 2022 CSR Report.
Initiatives designed to educate employees on important social topics, celebrate diverse perspectives, and advocate for greater inclusion in the hospitality industry continue to take precedence at Southern Glazer’s. In addition to internal programs, the CSR Report showcases Southern Glazer’s efforts to engage marginalized communities and provide educational programming around alcohol safety, underage drinking prevention and DEI to students across the nation.
